Fall 2017 Bios
Jasmina Buresch, born in Sofia, Bulgaria but raised in the United States with family residing in almost all seven continents, was raised in a unique, intellectually nurturing and culturally diverse family. Currently a freshman at Fordham University’s Rose Hill campus, she will be majoring in International Political Economy. Over her time at Fordham thus far, she has been introduced to many exciting concepts, sparking her interest in Arabic, philosophy, economics, and writing. The connections she made in her essay were inspired by the interdisciplinary connections she made across her studies.
Rachel Malak graduated from a small public school in Northeast Pennsylvania, where she discovered her passion for writing. She is currently a sophomore at Fordham College Rose Hill, majoring in English with a minor in Communications & Culture.
Emma Claire Marvin is a freshman at Fordham College Rose Hill from Summit, New Jersey. She is considering majoring in Art History with a minor in French. She is interested in visual arts, social justice and humanitarian issues, cultural studies, and has a passion for international travel.
Jack Mueller is a native of St. Louis Missouri and a freshman at Fordham University. Jack chose to attend Fordham based on their strong academics and the opportunity to play football for the Rams. He plans to take advantage of Fordham’s unique location to pursue a career in global security.
Sadaf Rafi is a freshman at Fordham University. She is hoping to major in International Studies. In her free time she likes to read, write, and spend time with family. Her favorite types of books to read are fiction books across multiple genres such as fantasy and mystery. Her main form of writing is journaling. Her dream career is to work for an international nonprofit.
Dana Skiera is from Itasca, Illinois (a quaint suburb of Chicago). I’m a freshman at Fordham College Rose Hill, intending to major in English and minor in Film. There is nothing like a good book and a good cup of coffee— Catcher in the Rye and Pride & Prejudice are two of my favorite novels.
